In other cases, an FAA licensed pilot is allowed to fly without first obtaining a permit. The timeline can vary depending on the complexity and scope of the project. Typically, drone video production takes a few weeks from planning to final delivery. Since we own and operate drones and have FAA licensed pilots on staff, we can often accept last minute requests, so reach out if you have a last minute drone video production need.

The safety of our crew and everyone involved in the project, including those that may be in the vicinity of where we are filming, is our first priority. We closely monitor weather conditions leading up to the shoot and anytime we have an aircraft flying. Depending on the location and the severity of the weather, we may still be able to fly. Other times, bad weather will dictate that flying a drone is not safe (or legally permissible) and we must wait out the bad weather or reschedule. Depending on the time of year, location, and project needs, we will discuss a "weather contingency plan" with you during pre production so there are no surprises if bad weather occurs.

When the project necessitates filming drone footage with a larger camera or lens, we use heavy lift drones that can carry RED or Arri cinema cameras.
