Dayforce needed a sleek, modern video to kick off their Innovation Keynote at Discover 2024—their annual user conference. The video needed to unveil their latest product updates in a way that felt people-centered and visually exciting.
To bring this vision to life, Dayforce partnered with Gorilla Creative, a leading San Francisco corporate video production company, to create a high-impact animated video that balanced product storytelling with human connection.
The Challenge
The goal was to highlight Dayforce’s newest innovations through clean, captivating product animation—without relying solely on UI screens or feature lists. Adding to the challenge, the video needed to move forward before all the new product features were fully finalized.
Our Approach
Our process began with a cross-functional kickoff meeting to gather input from the product, design, and marketing teams. It was clear from the outset that this would be one of those times when we needed to design and build the airplane while pushing it down the runway—and trust our process to be ready for takeoff by the end (spoiler: it was!).
To anchor the video with a human connection, we decided to feature an on-screen presenter instead of a traditional voiceover. Rather than casting an actor, we featured Meghan Sullivan, Dayforce's VP of Design. As the leader behind the product’s vision, Meghan brought authentic warmth while keeping the spotlight on the innovations.
Since we were producing this video alongside the Dayforce Keynote Opening Video, which already had a green screen shoot scheduled, we were able to film Meghan's on-camera segments without any additional production costs—a huge savings that allowed us to invest more into design and animation.
From there, our post-production team brought the innovation narrative to life through high-quality animation, focusing on clarity, modern aesthetics, and storytelling flow. The animation was carefully crafted to reflect the sophistication of Dayforce’s platform and make each product update easy to grasp and exciting to watch.
The Outcome
The video delivered exactly what Dayforce needed: a 90-second blend of crisp motion design and human storytelling that excites users and explains the "why" behind the new features. Meghan’s on-screen presence added a sense of authenticity and connection, while the animated segment made each update feel clear, important, and future-forward.
The project is a great example of how Gorilla Creative, a San Francisco creative agency specializing in animated video production, helps companies like Dayforce create product videos that are as compelling as they are strategic—through collaborative creative development, animation, and corporate video production.
